Overview#

The Gillette PR-1800 is a 180-kilowatt prime-rated natural gas generator on PSI's 11.1L turbocharged inline-6 — a displacement unique to the prime series. This engine sits between the 8.1L (PR-1000/1300) and the 14.6L (PR-2400), delivering 272 bhp at 180 kW prime. Stamford UCID274J alternator, DSE 7420 MKII controller.

The PSI 11.1L — a prime-specific displacement#

The 11.1L inline-6 does not appear in the SP standby series. PSI offers this displacement specifically for continuous-duty applications where the 8.1L is undersized but the 14.6L is over-specified. At 180 kW prime from 11.1L, the engine runs at comfortable specific loading for sustained duty.

The PSI 11.1L prime gas engine is less common than the 8.8L V8 in our territory but follows the same PSI service protocols. For continuous-duty installations, we establish structured maintenance contracts with defined 250-hour oil change windows.
