Overview#
The Blue Star NG200-01P is the prime-rated variant of the NG200-01, delivering 175 kWe continuously on natural gas (115 kWe on LP). It uses the identical PSI 11.1L inline-six platform and physical enclosure as the standby NG200-01, with the prime rating providing a warranty-backed assurance of continuous duty at reduced electrical output.
Standby vs. prime on the 11.1L platform#
| NG200-01 (Standby) | NG200-01P (Prime) | |
|---|---|---|
| Output NG | 200 kWe | 175 kWe |
| Output LP | 130 kWe | 115 kWe |
| Warranty | 2 yr / 2,000 hr | 1 yr / 1,500 hr |
| NG fuel @ 100% | 2,076 ft³/hr | 1,879 ft³/hr |
| Temp rise | 125°C standby | 105°C prime |
Both units share the same OPU footprint (120 × 66 × 80 in, 6,550 lbs), DSE DCP7310 controller, and alternator models.
When to spec the NG200-01P#
- Prime or continuous power duty on natural gas or LP at 150–175 kW loads
- Applications where the generator is the primary source (not emergency backup), such as remote sites, microgrids, or peak-shaving installations
- Projects requiring prime-rated certification for permitting, insurance, or financing
Alternator configurations#
All five voltage configurations carry 105°C prime temperature rise:
| Voltage | Phase | Alternator |
|---|---|---|
| 120/240V | 1 | Stamford S4L1D-E41 |
| 120/208V | 3 | Stamford UCDI274J1 |
| 240V | 3 | Stamford UCDI274J1 |
| 277/480V | 3 | Stamford UCI274H |
| 347/600V | 3 | Stamford UCI274H |
Our service experience#
Service intervals are identical to the NG200-01. Prime-duty operation means higher annual hour accumulation — budget for more frequent spark plug and ignition coil replacements relative to a standby unit. The 2-inch NPT fuel connection and 11 in. water column pressure requirement are the same as the standby variant.
