Overview#
The Kohler 150RZGC is a 135-kilowatt LPG industrial standby generator in an open-frame (skid-mounted) configuration. Rated at 91-135 kW standby depending on voltage, it uses a PSI (Power Solutions International) engine paired with a brushless rare-earth permanent-magnet alternator at 1800 RPM. The open-frame design is intended for indoor mechanical rooms or buildings with dedicated generator enclosures.
Gaseous vs diesel at 135 kW#
At this capacity, gaseous generators eliminate on-site fuel storage requirements and SPCC compliance obligations. Propane provides clean combustion with lower emissions than diesel, and there is no fuel degradation concern during low-runtime standby duty. However, propane supply must be sized for the expected outage duration, and delivery logistics become a factor during regional emergencies.
Our service experience#
PowerGen provides installation, maintenance, and emergency service for Kohler gaseous generators throughout Northern California. The PSI engine platform in the larger RZG units is a proven industrial gaseous engine with strong service support, and we structure PM programs around annual ignition, fuel system, and coolant inspections.
