Overview#
The Blue Star NG650-01P is the prime-rated variant of the NG650-01, delivering 550 kWe continuously on natural gas (350 kWe on LP). It uses the identical PSI 32L V12 platform and physical enclosure as the standby NG650-01. Three-phase only — no single-phase option. The NG650-01P carries a 1-year / 1,500-hour prime warranty.

Both share the same OPU footprint (210×96×103 in, 16,175 lbs) and DSE DCP7310 controller.

All carry 105°C prime temperature rise and ±0.5% voltage regulation.
When to spec the NG650-01P#
- 450–550 kW continuous or prime duty on natural gas or LP (three-phase only)
- Sites requiring prime-rated certification at the 650 kW class on gaseous fuel
- Facilities where the NG650-01P's improved deration base (87°F / 3,000 ft vs. standby 77°F / 1,200 ft) is operationally relevant
Our service experience#
Service procedures are identical to the NG650-01 standby. Prime-duty use means higher annual hour accumulation on the V12 — plan for more frequent spark plug and ignition coil service intervals per PSI's prime-duty schedule.
