Overview#
The Winco DE30 is a 30 kW standby / 27 kW prime diesel generator powered by an Isuzu 4LE1T 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with a Stamford alternator. Available in single-phase (120/240V) and three-phase (277/480V) configurations, it is the mid-range unit in the DE open-frame diesel series. EPA Tier IVi certified. 100% US-made in Le Center, Minnesota since 1927.
The DE series open-frame design is intended for indoor generator room installation. The three-phase option makes the DE30 suitable for small commercial buildings, agricultural operations, and municipal facilities with three-phase loads.
The American Manufacturing Advantage#
Since 1927, Winco has assembled generators in Le Center, Minnesota with US labor and components. The DE30 uses an Isuzu 4LE1T engine and a Stamford alternator — both globally non-proprietary, both serviceable without OEM-specific parts programs or dealer relationships.
For rural municipalities, school districts, and agricultural operations with Buy American procurement requirements, the DE30 provides 30 kW of US-manufactured diesel standby power. The Isuzu 4LE1T engine is distributed globally through Isuzu's industrial dealer network — parts are available independent of Winco's own dealer footprint.
Service & Maintenance#
Oil and fuel filter changes every 250 hours or annually. Annual fuel filter changes are mandatory for standby units where diesel sits in storage tanks and degrades. Air filter inspection at 500 hours. Isuzu 4LE1T engine consumables are available through Isuzu industrial dealers and standard diesel parts distributors.
The Stamford alternator requires standard maintenance — brush inspection, bearing service, winding insulation check. Transfer switch contacts should be exercised weekly to prevent oxidation during standby periods. Major overhaul at 20,000 hours.
