Overview#

The Cummins C2750 D6e is a 2750 kW standby diesel generator set from the Centum Series, launched in 2024. Powered by the QSK78-G36 diesel engine, the C2750 D6e extends the Centum platform into near-3 MW territory -- delivering power that would traditionally require a QSK95-based genset, but in the Centum's more compact footprint with charged air-cooled intake and PowerCommand 3.3 controller.

The QSK78 engine family is a purpose-built platform for high-output power generation, slotting between the QSK60 (60L) and QSK95 (95L) in Cummins' engine hierarchy. At 2750 kW, the C2750 D6e provides a step below the 3 MW class that allows engineers to right-size standby capacity without stepping up to the QSK95 platform's size and weight.

Four C2750 D6e units in a paralleling array deliver 11 MW of standby capacity with N+1 redundancy. The Centum's single-source integration, advanced PowerCommand 3.3 controls, and smaller footprint make it particularly attractive for hyperscale data center deployments where generator yard density is a constraint. Fuel consumption runs approximately 193 gallons per hour at full rated load.

Frequently Asked Questions

When was the C2750 D6e launched?
The C2750 D6e was launched in 2024 as part of the Centum Series expansion into the near-3 MW class. It uses the QSK78-G36 engine, which is a purpose-built variant of Cummins' QSK78 platform for the Centum platform.
What engine does the C2750 D6e use?
The C2750 D6e uses the Cummins QSK78-G36 diesel engine. The QSK78 platform is designed specifically for high-output power generation, bridging the gap between the QSK60 and QSK95 engine families.
What are the standby and prime ratings of the C2750 D6e?
Standby rating is 2750 kW (3438 kVA) at 60 Hz, 0.8 power factor. Prime rating is 2500 kW (3125 kVA). Both at 1800 rpm, 60 Hz, three-phase.
How does the C2750 D6e compare to the C3000 D6eb Centum?
Both are Centum Series models using QSK78-variant engines. The C2750 D6e uses the QSK78-G36 while the C3000 D6eb uses the QSK78-G37, a higher-output calibration. The C3000 D6eb delivers an additional 250 kW from the same engine family.
Can PowerGen service the C2750 D6e in Northern California?
Yes. PowerGen provides authorized Cummins service for Centum Series generators across the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. The Centum platform uses standard Cummins engines and components, serviced with INSITE diagnostics by our factory-trained technicians.
