Overview#
The Triton Power TP-V1250-T4F is a 1250 kW class diesel standby generator featuring a twin-engine configuration with two Volvo TWD1673GE turbocharged inline six-cylinder engines. Rated at 1254 kW / 1568 kVA standby and 1140 kW / 1425 kVA prime, this is the highest-output Volvo-powered unit in Triton's lineup. Each engine displaces 16.1 L and operates at 1800 RPM, paired with Leroy Somer LSA47.2 alternators.
The twin-pack design delivers megawatt-plus power while maintaining EPA Tier 4 Final emissions compliance across both engines. Sound attenuation keeps noise levels at approximately 70 dBA at 7 meters. This unit targets large commercial facilities, data centers, and industrial complexes requiring high-capacity backup power with modern emissions standards.
Our service experience#
The TP-V1250-T4F shares its TWD1673GE engines with the single-engine TP-V625-T4F, providing full parts commonality across the Triton Volvo Tier 4 Final range. Twin-pack installations require attention to load sharing controls and synchronized paralleling, but the underlying engine maintenance is identical to the single-engine models. For facilities needing more than 625 kW with Tier 4 Final compliance, the twin-pack approach avoids the need to move to a different engine platform entirely.
