Overview#

The Triton Power TP-P600-T2-UL is a 600 kW diesel standby generator built on the Perkins 2806C-E18TAG3 turbocharged and aftercooled six-cylinder engine (18.3 L displacement, bore 145 mm x stroke 183 mm, 14.5:1 compression ratio). It produces 678 kWm (909 HP) at rated RPM and is paired with a Leroy Somer TAL0473E alternator. The unit carries UL2200 listing and meets EPA Tier 2 for emergency stationary applications.

Available in three-phase only at 277/480V, 120/208V, and 120/240V. The open-skid configuration measures 155" x 69" x 82" and weighs 10,165 lbs dry. Enclosed versions are 220.7" x 71.1" x 102" at 12,785 lbs. Fuel consumption is 145 L/hr (38.30 GPH) at full load, dropping to 79 L/hr (20.87 GPH) at half load.

Our service experience#

The Perkins 2806C is the 18 L platform that powers generators in the 500-750 kW range. The TAG3 single-turbo variant in this 600 kW model shares its block with the twin-turbo TTAG7 in Triton's 750 kW unit, so many consumables and service procedures overlap. At 600 kW, this unit competes with the Kohler 600REOZJF and Cummins QSK19-powered offerings. For larger commercial buildings, hospitals, and data center deployments in Northern California, Triton's value pricing on this proven Perkins platform is a significant differentiator.

Why we recommend Triton Power

Triton Power is our value brand for mobile and portable diesel generators, and an emerging option for industrial standby. When MQ Power's pricing is a stretch or lead times are too long, Triton delivers comparable capability at a lower price point with faster availability.

We are developing our Triton Power sales relationship and building fleet experience. Every engine platform Triton uses — Perkins, John Deere, Kubota, Scania, Volvo — is one we already service daily across other brands. Triton's open architecture means our technicians can maintain these units with standard tooling and widely available parts.
