Overview#
The Cummins C750D5 is a 750 kW industrial standby diesel generator powered by the QSK23-G3 — a 23-liter engine from the Cummins QSK heavy-duty industrial platform. Delivering three-phase 277/480V power at 60 Hz, the C750D5 is designed for data centers, hospitals, water treatment plants, and other mission-critical facilities where reliable high-capacity backup power is essential.
The QSK23 engine features high-pressure common rail fuel injection, full-authority electronic controls, and advanced turbocharging to deliver 750 kW from a compact footprint relative to its output class. The Cummins PowerCommand digital paralleling controller enables multi-unit paralleling arrays for facilities requiring megawatt-scale backup capacity with N+1 redundancy — a standard configuration in Tier III and Tier IV data center designs.
The C750D5 competes in the 750 kW industrial class alongside the Caterpillar C27 (800 kW), MTU 12V1600 DS750, and Kohler 750REOZMD. The QSK23's track record in data center applications and Cummins' global service network make it a frequent specification in critical infrastructure projects where uptime requirements are measured in nines and service response time is a key selection criterion.
