The SENS EnerGenius NRG is an SCR-based engine start battery charger built for maximum reliability in mission-critical generator applications. Where the MicroGenius 2 leads with advanced features and networking, the NRG leads with brute-force reliability — an observed MTBF exceeding 1.2 million hours, meaning a statistical expectation of over 130 years between failures.

The NRG uses 4-rate charging with automatic temperature compensation, covering 12V and 24V systems at 10A or 20A. What is the Battery Fault alarm?
An industry-first feature from SENS. The NRG continuously monitors the battery circuit and detects problems like high-resistance cables, corroded connections, and open cells. When a fault is detected, the charger signals an alarm — alerting maintenance before the generator fails to start during an outage. Most conventional chargers only monitor output voltage, missing the cable and connection issues that cause the majority of starting failures.
What battery types does the NRG support?
All common lead-acid types (flooded, VRLA, AGM) and nickel-cadmium. The charger is field-adaptable — no special programming needed for different battery chemistries. Temperature compensation adjusts float voltage automatically based on ambient temperature.
