Overview#
The Triton Power TP-NG1000-UL is a 1000 kW (1 MW) natural gas standby generator powered by a PSI (Power Solutions International) 53L turbocharged V-24 engine running at 1800 RPM. This is the flagship of Triton's EPA-certified natural gas generator lineup, UL2200 listed for the US and Canadian markets. The Leroy Somer Class H insulation alternator delivers 1000 kW (1250 kVA) standby and 900 kW (1125 kVA) prime power in three-phase configuration at 120/208V and 277/480V.
The PSI 53L V-24 is the largest engine in Triton's natural gas range, providing 1 MW of backup power from a single genset. The 24-cylinder configuration distributes combustion loads across a large number of cylinders for smooth operation and manageable per-cylinder stress. At this output level, the TP-NG1000 serves large hospitals, data centers, industrial complexes, and campus-wide power systems. The unit meets EPA Stationary Spark Ignition emissions standards and is rated at 70 dBA.
Our service experience#
A 1 MW natural gas generator is a major infrastructure commitment requiring careful coordination between the generator installer, electrical contractor, gas utility, and AHJ (authority having jurisdiction). The PSI V-24 engine has extensive ignition and cooling system service requirements, but the modular design provides reasonable access to components. Gas supply at this scale requires dedicated utility infrastructure, and we recommend a minimum 72-hour gas supply continuity analysis as part of the project planning process.
